This LibGuide serves as a go-to reference for individuals seeking efficient and effective methods to stay informed about current events, emerging trends, and relevant news.

Enhancing research

Alerts

By setting up alerts, you can stay up to date with the latest research and publications in your field of interest. ProQuest covers a vast range of academic disciplines, providing access to scholarly articles, dissertations, conference papers, and more. Alerts ensure you receive timely notifications whenever new content is published that matches your search criteria. It also saves you time and effort. Instead of repeatedly performing the same searches on ProQuest to check for new materials, alerts automate the process for you. Once you've set up an alert, ProQuest will notify you whenever new content becomes available, saving you time and effort.

How to set up your search alerts on ProQuest

Step 1: Access ProQuest

Open your web browser and navigate to the ProQuest platform. Use your university credentials to log in.

Step 2: Preform a search.

Enter your desired search terms in the search box on the ProQuest homepage. Use relevant keywords or phrases that reflect the topic or subject you want to receive alerts for.

Step 3: Save search and create alert.

Once you have refined your search, look for a button or link that allows you to save the search or create an alert. This location may vary slightly depending on the database you are using.

Typically, you'll find a "Save search" or "Create alert" option near the search box, search results, or within the search history section. Click on it to proceed.

Step 4: Set Alert Frequency and Delivery Options

After selecting the option to save the search or create an alert, a dialog box or page will appear where you can customize the alert settings. Here you can choose how frequently you want to receive alerts, such as daily, weekly, or monthly.

Additionally, you may have options to select the delivery method for alerts, such as email notifications or RSS feeds. Choose the preferences that suit your needs.

Step 5: Confirm and save the alert.

Review the alert settings you have selected. Make sure the search terms, frequency, and delivery options are accurate and match your requirements. Once you are satisfied, click the "Save" or "Confirm" button to create the alert.
